The "Riddim Collision" festival, one of the most famous European music festivals, dub, rock and electronic music oriented (SOPOT is expecting to go on stage side by side with the most popular French band "High Tone") and "Du Monde Aux Balkan", already traditionally held at Grenobl, presents culture, art and music projects from former Yugoslavia.

Aside these two festivals, "SOPOT" will perform in various youth centers and music clubs in Paris, Marseille, Dijon, Thiers, Saint Etienne and Fresnes. During their stay at Paris and brief pause between concerts, the members of "SOPOT" band will practice with French musicians, members of "Duberman" band, and record one or two numbers which both band will be able to use in their next albums.

SOPOT – Biography

In Old Slavic language, "SOPOT" means "the source".
"Sopot" was conceived as a music project by the artist Petar Topalović, who will, in cooperation with local and foreign musicians (artists), fuse Balkan art and culture with modern technology through music. The author of "SOPOT" project has created his unique style and view on life and music on Balkan Peninsula, through enormous life and music experience gathered while participating in many music projects.

Album "Dubalkan" was recorded and producet and the "Jarring Effects" studio" in Lyon, France (same studio where "High Tone" and Le Peuple De L’Herbe made their albums), in April 2007. Beside the local musicians, the foreign musicians, L'oeuf Raide, Uzul Prod, R-ZATZ, Niko Matagrin, also took part in the process of creation of the album which gave it a multicultural feel.

Album was officialy published on February 15. 2007. with the help and supervision of Menadžer Kompanija, Banja Luka, RS, BiH. Perfecting his trade in rock’n’roll and alternative bands Ikamna, Jubbooko sa Negras, Revolt and Slavenski, the autor gathered a team of great musicians and ventured to dUBaLKAN Tour 2007, the first "SOPOT" tour!

During the year of 2007, "SOPOT" performed in Sarajevo, Mostar, Prijedor (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Ljubljana, Maribor and Murska Subota (Slovenia), Dubrovnik and Zagreb (2. ZG ethno festival, Croatia), and finally in Banja Luka, at the NEOFEST festival and "CAT" club.

Band will, during the first half of 2008, spend in rehearsal space, preparing some new material for the next album. It is already arranged for the two world-class artists to participate in making of the album, Dr. Das (ex-Asian Dub Foundation) and Billy Gould (ex-Faith No More), who will contribute to further affirmation of music band "SOPOT".
